Foundations of Human Experience
Why Life Feels the Way It Does
For anyone who has wondered why the same life can feel so different from one moment to the next — clear one day, heavy the next, manageable in one mood, personal or overwhelming in another — and is beginning to suspect there may be a simpler explanation beneath it all.
Live Online Program with Brett Chitty
16 September – 7 October 2026
What this program is really about
Life can look completely different from one moment to the next, and from one day to the next.
The same situation can feel manageable, frightening, personal, hopeful, heavy, or clear depending on the state of mind we are in.
Most of us naturally try to make sense of that by looking outward: to our circumstances, relationships, past, habits, thoughts, emotions, or the conditions of our life. Sometimes that seems to help. Sometimes it does not. And sometimes life still feels confusing, stressful, or hard to understand, even when nothing obvious has changed.
Foundations of Human Experience points in a different direction: toward how experience itself is being created, moment by moment, through the simple principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought.
Not as a theory to believe.
Not as a technique to apply.
But as something you can begin to see for yourself in the middle of ordinary life.
This is not a new belief to take on.
It is something already happening in your own experience, waiting to be noticed.
You may recognize this
This program may be especially relevant if you have ever noticed how quickly life can seem to change from the inside:
These are not signs that something is wrong with you.
They may be invitations to look more deeply at how experience is being created in the moment.
Who this is for
This program may be a good fit if you are curious about why life can feel so different from one moment to the next, and you are drawn to look more deeply than another method for managing your thoughts or feelings.
It may be especially relevant if you:
You do not need previous experience with the Three Principles to take part.
You only need a willingness to look in a fresh direction.
The direction we’ll be looking
It can often seem as though life is coming at us from the outside.
A person says something, and hurt appears. A situation changes, and life suddenly looks uncertain. A thought shows up, and the whole world can seem worrying, hopeful, personal, urgent, or impossible.
From the outside, it can look as though circumstances are producing our experience.
But the Three Principles point to something more fundamental: that experience is being brought to life from within, moment by moment, through Mind, Consciousness, and Thought.
This does not mean life does not matter.
It means there may be a deeper understanding available beneath the surface of what appears to be happening — an understanding of what is producing the way life looks and feels in the moment.
What we’ll explore
Across the four sessions, we’ll look gently and practically at how experience is created, why life can look so different from one moment to the next, and what becomes possible when this begins to be seen for yourself.
01 Session One
What Produces Experience
We’ll begin by looking at why life does not simply feel the way it is, but the way it appears to us in the moment — and what may be involved in producing that appearance.
02 Session Two
Mind, Consciousness, and Thought
We’ll explore the Three Principles as simple, universal principles behind every changing experience — not as ideas to memorize, but as something to begin recognizing in ordinary life.
03 Session Three
Why struggle can look so real
We’ll look at why stress, insecurity, fear, habits, and old patterns can feel so convincing, and how understanding the nature of experience can soften our relationship to them.
04 Session Four
Living from what you begin to see
We’ll explore what it can mean to live with this understanding in everyday life — in feelings, relationships, decisions, and difficult moments.
What you may begin to notice
This is not about promising a particular feeling, outcome, or permanent state of clarity. It is about looking in a direction where you may begin to see your experience with less confusion, less struggle, and more understanding.
How Experience Is Being Created
You may begin to see more clearly how life is being brought to life from within, moment by moment.
Less Battle With Changing Feelings
Thoughts, moods, and reactions may still move through, but they may not need to be battled, fixed, or taken quite so personally.
Seeing Struggle Differently
Stress, insecurity, uncertainty, and old patterns can begin to make more sense when you see what is producing the way they look and feel.
More Trust in Your Own Insight
Insight may begin to look less like something you have to force, and more like something that appears naturally as understanding deepens.
Everyday Life Can Feel More Workable
As experience begins to make more sense, everyday moments may feel less confusing, less personal, and easier to meet.
Less Pulled Around by the Moment
Moods and reactions may still move through, but they may not need to define the day, decide what is true, or carry the same authority.

Your guide

This program is led by Brett Chitty.
Brett has spent many years exploring the Three Principles and the work of Sydney Banks, with a particular interest in how this understanding speaks to the ordinary, changing experience of being human.
His approach is gentle, careful, and reflective. Rather than presenting the Principles as ideas to memorize or techniques to apply, Brett points toward what can be seen for ourselves in real life — in our feelings, relationships, struggles, questions, and moments of clarity.
Foundations of Human Experience has grown out of that interest: a wish to make this understanding simple, grounded, and relevant to the way life actually feels — and to explore what is producing that feeling in the moment.
